If I were...

If I were principal of our school, I would make a heated indoor pool so that you could go swimming in it at break times to boost the peoples passion for swimming.I would do this by transforming our pool you know and love today into an indoor warm one.

 I would also make the teachers chose a class pet, so the kids can do writing and learn about the pet, and  they can say they have a pet if they don't have a pet at home, BONUS! 

 I would also say that you can where mufti, but you need to stick on a patch to show that you go to our school. I would do this by coping the same patch we have on our school uniform  into a sticky patch that you will stick on. That's pretty much all I will do.

On the 22 August 2017 we went to do our cross country. We had to wait till it was our tern during that time I watched my brother do his race and he came first just like every year so I knew I had to come in the top five just like every year. I ran my race and came fourth! Over all it was a very good day.

Why we should have a mermaid school

1 Mermaid tails. The swimmable mermaid shaped fabric and monofin all together to become a tail. I am here talking to you about this because people buy a Fin Fun safe and swimmable mermaid tail and expect to be able to swim in it in a public pool, but no. No mermaid tails allowed because of a potential drowning risk. So it's your pool, if you have one, or none at all. So my friends and my idea is to have a mermaid school. So when you complete the lessons you can use the tail in a public pool.	2  A mermaid school will help with undoable abilities in swimming, along with some mermaid tricks. Mermaid schools will be like a swim centre but mermaid-like and a 2 hour session. Mermaid schools will get people off their devices and the school will accept any age up to 50 but not under five. Mermaid tails will give everyone their dreams of becoming a mermaid.
3 How my friends and  are going to start up a mermaid school? First we have already contacted the council. Next we made a presentation to show what we want to happen,and how it’s going to operate. We did this by making a slide show and explaining everything about our idea. Then we will show the council and get them to help us. After that we will spread the word and get people coming to our mermaid school!	4 We made this idea up because we had the problem of no mermaid tails in the public pools so our day was ruined.  We couldn't swim in them until summer because my fiends pools are both very cold in the winter. But imagine you just brought a $160 dollar mermaid tail with your own money so you could swim in it in a public pool and show off.  You run to the manager to receive your entry pass to the pool and they say “Have a nice day but you can’t use your tail sweetie because of the potential drowning risk”. You walk away head down with disappointment. This is exactly why we should have a tail school so dreams are not crushed and money is not wasted.
5 Mermaid schools will help kids who are afraid of the water by giving them a tail to swim in then the kid will want to swim in the tail. Mermaid schools will be for both genders because you can get boy merman tails especially designed for men.	6 Mermaid tails help with fitness and could also be a swim sport. Mermaid schools will attract people into liking swimming and increase their water confidence.
7 The council banned the mermaid tails because of one little girl. She was not in a safe brand called the fin fun tail. She obviously had not been taught how to swim in a tail!  She would have easily been able to swim in a tail and been safe if she went to a mermaid school.	8 In my eyes the Fin Fun brand of mermaid tails are very safe and could only hurt someone if they use them wrong or irresponsibly. I think we should definitely have a mermaid school and I hope I have showed you how to to think and see how I see a fin fun mermaid tail.   By Yasmin Bicer H4

This is my cat I made to show how mother cats are giving birth to kittens and only finding scraps from the garbage for food, that's why the cats are filled with rubbish.

This is the cat I got inspired by and the cats that I ended out with. I could not find the artist who made this but I did find someone similar his name is Leo Sewell.

I started this project with my friends Sophia and Nicola who had a similar idear to me. We made a blendspace about it and a slide show as well. Once we had our information we split up and started to create our cats.

I started the cats of with two empty bottles I stuffed them with rubbish and then I had my cat’s bodys. I put the collars on before sticking the cats faces on with hot glue to ceil the bottles hole. I made a face with hot glue and vivid. Then I was ready to make the cats tails. I made a loom band tail  then I stuck the bottle cap feet on and I was done.

Overall If I could do it again I would make a face out of rubbish to be more effective.I could have put something else for the feet or put more bottle caps on them to make them stand up better and make them taller. I think my cats are very cute and could probably inspire people to do what I have done.

I chose to do a cat from warriors because I like that series and I read it a lot there are lots of books in the series  so they can keep you reading for a long time. I recamend  these books to everyone my age.

You carry your equipment down to the brown lifeless mucky ocean where the mudflat used to lie.Your gas mask stops the unbreathable dead rotten air from your getting to your lungs. You dig for hours in the muddy green sludge, finding not even a pebble. You use the bigger shovel to dig up more and faster. You find a rock a fossil! A smile runs across your face as you hadn't found anything in years. You quickly recognize the scattery creature, a crab. You came down here to find something that could tell a story to stop what has happened here. You carry your heavy backpack filled with your mask, body cote and shovels inside. INNOV8 REFLECTION FORM

I will be posting one of these each Friday so you can see what I am doing with my Innov8.

Week -

What did you learn about this week? I learnt about good photo shoot angels from when we were taking photos for our slideshow.

How did you complete your research? I completed my research by looking at the mermaid tail ban page and started to understand why they ban them. Because I read it I am able to change their point of view.

Did you make any changes to your Innov8 project? If so, what were they? If not, why not? No because we have had our topic for a long time now and we have contacted the council and pool centres and finished our slide show so there's no turning back now.

What questions do you have after this week? How could you find some of these answers? What are we going to do next after the mermaid school is running? We will get these answers when the time come we most likely will go back to normal.

What took up the majority of your time this week? Was this a success or do you need to rethink your ideas? Reading the council page about mermaid tails took most of my time up. This was a success because now I get what they are talking about so now I know how to change their minds.

What do you need to do/get before next week’s Innov8 sessions? We need to get the photos up on the slide ready to show the council.

What is your to-do list for next week? 1. Get photos on slideshow. 2. Practice slideshow. 3. Organise date of council showing.

You run to school with your hair tied up, closed shoes on and a big excited smile on your face. You collect your pencil case and hop up to the bus stop. Today is the day you get to take your balancing toy home. You wait for what seems to be an hour, for the bus to come and take you to tech. Your parents have paid for tech and would be angry if you hadn't gone. You and your classmates go back to class disappointed, with the bus company, and upset with the classes being able to go while you are not. Then suddenly a bus came by, you get up with your classmates and walk over to the bus stop. You were happy once again. This time you run but nothing's their. You walk back to class head down about to burst into tears. You sit there until finally the bus comes everyone walks this time and you finally get your ride to tech.

Puppet show

For book week ramble we had to make a lot of things relating to books that we have read and enjoyed. One of the things that we did was this puppet show. We worked very hard at perfecting our puppet show that it took us five weeks to do. Our puppet show was based on five chapters of the book Ingo. We spent the five weeks that we spent on the puppet show perfecting it, checking it, double checking it, triple checking it, quadruple checking it, and well you get the picture. We tried so hard to make sure that it is perfect and are very very very happy with the result. All our hard work had finally paid off.

Story teller: In a cottage not too far from here lived a girl, Sapphire and a boy, Conor. Just down a hill from the cottage was a cove. Sapphire and Conor went to the cove a lot.  One Day their dad's boat crashed. People say he died but no one knows what really happened.

Scene 0

Granny Crane: Oh hi Elvira.

Elvira:  Hi matilda. You’re 19 right?

Granny Crane: I was 1 week ago until you gave me that oldness potion. Speaking of potions,  have you got that potion yet?

Elvira: Ummmmmm maybe not maybe so, ok no, but i gave it to sell door because he was gonna die so ummmmmmmmm

Granny crane: You stupid egg!

Mum: CONOR WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN AND WHY ARE YOU WET?

Conor: Sapphire plz don’t tell mum. I won't lie again.

Conor: Thx. Mum I stayed the night at Granny Crane’s house and I swum in her fountain and didn't have togs so I went in my clothes.

Mum: I'm Gonna Have a talk with Granny Crane.

Conor: Oh no no no

Mum: Granny crane why didn't you tell me that Conor was here?

Granny Crane: He wasn't here what are you talking about? Oh I see

Mum: I'm gonna kill him. But he never lies that’s weird.

Sapphire: That owl looks like Granny Crane

Conor: OMGG IT IS

Granny Crane: Run kids, your mum is mad

Sapphire: How did you do that?

Granny Crane: Never mind that, go!

Sapphire: CONOR, CONOR, CONOR! Oh there you are. When did you get that wet suit? I'm Coming.

Faro: Hi Sapphire.

Sapphire: Hi? Seal?

Faro: I’m no seal, last time I checked seals couldn’t talk.

Sapphire: You’re a merman/maid!

Faro: There must be a lot of maids were you live.

Sapphire: No it’s just-

Faro: We go by the name of the mer. What were you saying?

Sapphire: Nevermind, I have so many questions to ask you. But first I need to find Connor.

Faro: He’s talking to the scallops with EL VER A. He can’t understand them just saying.

Sapphire: Who’s Elvira?

Faro: My sister.

Sapphire: How do you know he’s with her?

Faro: I can enter her mind. Mer share memories and thoughts instead of those ugly book things that you air people use.

Sapphire: OHHH. That confusing.

Faro: Shall I take you to them?

Sapphire: Sure. How can I go there there if I can’t breath in the water? And how do you know my name? Also you're the only one right? You and Elvira that is.

Faro: Connor told Elvira and I entered her memories

Sapphire: Oh. Are you going to answer the last question now?

Faro: Come on let's go. You won't die if you listen to me.

Sapphire: Ooookkkk? You haven't answered it yet.

Faro: What was the question again?

Sapphire:It was that-

Faro: Let's go go go!

(Sapphire sighs)

Sapphire: Are you sure I won’t drown?

Faro: You have mer blood in you. You can suck the oxygen from the water but only if you listen to me.

Scene 7

Sapphire: Can’t breath, it’s hurting me, bullets, I’m going to die, the surface is too high!!

Faro: Trust me, think mer, breath.

Sapphire: -nods, gasps for air- I’m doing it Faro!

Faro: Yes, lets ride the currents

Sapphire: But what about Conor?

Faro: I’ll take you to him

Sapphire: Oh k

Faro: Wee wee wee!

Sapphire: Yay wee wee

Faro: Connor should be here

Sapphire: He’s not

Faro: We just missed them

Sapphire: I should start heading back now

Faro: Ok bye

Elvira: Umm Guys. Oh so you're Sapphire. OK LOL. LEAVE NOW CONNER GOING MENTALLY COO-COO THAT YOU'RE NOT BACK. HE SAID THAT YOU WILL BE IN A LOT OF TROUBLE BECAUSE IT IS NIGHT. Whatever that's supposed to mean.
